Canelo Hasn’t Fought Since Losing To Crawford — Now He Faces An Unbeaten Champion With 24 KOs

Don't listen to anyone who tells you Christian Mbilli is a soft touch for Canelo Alvarez's comeback fight after the Mexican icon lost a unanimous decision to Terence Crawford in September 2025. Mbilli is a come-forward fighter who will be there for Canelo to hit, but he is rugged, determined and he loves to bang.

Translation: it would be a shock if Canelo doesn't feel the under-the-radar champion's power during this fight. Canelo has called Mbilli "too simple," and that makes sense after fighting a complex all-time great like Crawford, but no one should be sleeping on Mbilli. Here are the final details on the event billed as Mexico Vs. The World. Let's talk boxing.

Canelo Alvarez challenges Christian Mbilli for the WBC super middleweight title on Saturday, Oct. 31, at The Venue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The card streams on DAZN pay-per-view as part of Riyadh Season.

Mbilli won the interim title over Maciej Sulecki and was later elevated to full champion. This is his first defense.

In the main event, experience could be a key factor. Canelo has more KOs at 39 than Mbilli has fights at 30, yet he is only five years older than the Cameroonian champion. Many are wondering if this is the night when Canelo gets old, or if we've been seeing that happen gradually with each fight. We'll find out for sure on Halloween and we'll find out which fighter plays the role of Michael Myers.

Turki Alalshikh said the main event starts at 3 a.m. local time in Riyadh, which is 8 p.m. ET on Oct. 31.

Christian Mbilli (29-0-1) vs. Canelo Alvarez (63-3-2)

Jaime Munguia (46-2) vs. Nikita Zon (12-0-1)

Rafael Espinoza (28-0) vs. Lorenzo Parra (24-1-1)

Lindolfo Delgado (24-0) vs. Arthur Biyarslanov (21-0)

David Picasso (32-1-1) vs. Carl Martin (28-0)

The undercard features three more world title fights . Jaime Munguia defends the WBA super middleweight title against Nikita Zon, and Rafael Espinoza defends the WBO featherweight title against Lorenzo Parra. Lindolfo Delgado and Arthur Biyarslanov meet for the vacant IBF junior welterweight title.

In between handing out candy to trick-or-treaters, I'll have complete coverage of this card beginning with the main card on October 31.
