Eagles legend upset at his former team for pushing Jeff Stoutland out: ‘Don’t give me this crap’
Eagles legend rips Jeff Stoutland narrative.
Former Eagles legend Jason Kelce is upset about the narrative that Eagles players wanted Jeff Stoutland gone after last season.
On Tuesday , 97.5 The Fanatic radio host Bill Colarulo reported that Eagles players wanted a new offensive line coach to lead the room. They wanted a new voice.
So, after 13 seasons, Stoutland left the Eagles' organization in February.
"That one very much upset me," Kelce said on the 94WIP morning show about the Stoutland report. "Because the reason to move off of Jeff Stoutland had nothing to do with the players. Had to do with the building wanting to go in a different direction. That's fine, but don't give me this crap, trying to defer direction on the decisions you guys wanted to make."
Kelce is upset that certain members of the Eagles' organization are not willing to stand behind their statements. They are hiding behind a report.
"The leaks coming out and the unnamed sources," Kelce said about what bothers him. "It really bothers me because as a player. And the reason I'm telling people listening, I would take anything you hear from an unnamed source with a giant grain of salt. Because ultimately that person isn't willing to stand behind it in front of a camera, and usually that unnamed source has some type of incentive or reason that they're putting this out to a media member. And it's usually to cover their own behind."

Kelce doesn't believe the report is accurate. He knows his former teammates loved Stoutland to the end.
He remembers that left tackle Jordan Mailata and his wife, Niki, held a dinner for Stoutland to honor him after he left.
"I take great offense to somebody alluding to players not fighting really hard for Jeff," Kelce said.
