The Farmington football team has forfeited its first four games because two players who participated in those games were ineligible.

The team is now 1-5 after wins over Ann Arbor Huron and Walled Lake Northern were vacated by the Michigan High School Athletic Association. Its 29-7 win over Livonia Stevenson on Sept. 25 was not impacted by the MHSAA's rulings.

"Farmington Public Schools recently learned that residency information provided to the District for two Farmington High School students was inaccurate and that the students did not meet athletic eligibility requirements," athletic director Allyson Robinson wrote in a statement Thursday, Oct. 8. "Prior to the school year, the District completed the required eligibility process based on the information available at the time. District staff met with the family, reviewed the required residency documentation and confirmed the students' transfer from their previous school.

"When FPS later learned that the residency information provided to the District was inaccurate, we addressed the students' eligibility and self-reported the matter to the MHSAA."

Farmington is in its first season under coach Kason Dickerson, a former assistant who helped Orchard Lake St. Mary's win Division 2 state championships in 2024 and 2025 .

FPS hired Dickerson on March 6 to replace former coach Jason Albrecht, whose teams won two Oakland Activities Association-Blue championships, made three postseason appearances and went 26-23 in five seasons.

This is Dickerson's first head-coaching job. He has spent most of his career as an assistant, coaching defensive backs and working as a passing game coordinator. He also has been part of other winning programs, including West Bloomfield's 2020 state championship team.

Dickerson declined to comment about the forfeitures.

"Eligibility requirements are essential to maintaining fairness and integrity in athletics," Robinson said. "While this outcome is disappointing for our student-athletes and coaches, our focus now is on supporting our football team. These student-athletes have worked hard throughout the season, and we hope they will rally around one another, continue competing, and enjoy the opportunities still ahead of them this season."
