Washington football eyeing four-star 2028 Georgia edge rusher

As the Washington Huskies continue building their board for the 2028 class, Jedd Fisch has made it clear he wants his program to recruit at a national level. After adding commitments from players in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Jersey, and Florida between the 2026 and 2027 cycles, Washington is looking to Georgia as its next target.

During a 24-10 win over Washington State in the Apple Cup, the Huskies hosted four-star defensive lineman Isaac Kalubi-Lukuni and three-star Tory Clark for unofficial visits, and as defensive line coach Jason Kaufusi and edge rushers coach Aaron Van Horn take a long look at the state, four-star edge rusher Myles Tate also looks like a priority target for Washington.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound product of Woodward Academy in Atlanta is ranked as the No. 103 overall prospect and No. 16 edge rusher in the 2028 class by 247Sports, and as the Huskies continue to prioritize a talent infusion on the edge, the two-sport athlete, who also stars on the baseball diamond, will be a difficult addition.

The coveted prospect holds 40 offers, with Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, and Oregon all among the programs in pursuit of his services, but as the Huskies continue to emphasize playing time for freshmen, Tate displays a skill set that could get him on the field early if he were to wind up on Montlake.

On film, Tate displays the ability to line up as either a standup outside linebacker or with his hand in the dirt, with several different ways to get to the quarterback. He possesses an explosive first step, along with a spin move, the power to work through blocks, and a motor that never gives up on a play.

After securing unofficial visits from several other Georgia prospects, Washington is likely looking to get Tate to Seattle at some point during the fall to have him experience a gameday atmosphere at Husky Stadium.
