The New York Giants started their season in impressive fashion when they defeated the Dallas Cowboys by a 28-20 margin in the season opener. New head coach John Harbaugh has high hopes that his team that includes QB Jaxson Dart , RB Cam Skattebo and WR Malik Nabers has a chance to exceed expectations and play much better football than Giants fans have seen from the their team in recent years.
The Giants will be tested in Week 2 when they face the Los Angeles Rams Monday night at SoFi Stadium. The Rams came into the season as the favorite to win the NFC West title and potentially win the Super Bowl this season. The Rams were beaten decisively in their season opener when they met the division rival San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne, Australia. The Giants will likely face an angry and determined team when the two teams meet at SoFi Stadium.
Nabers is probably the most dangerous weapon the Giants have on their roster. He is coming back from a torn ACL. He was targeted 9 times in the game against the Cowboys and he caught 6 passes for 69 yards. However, Nabers was not thrilled with the way he played in the game and he admitted that his performance was "rusty ."
Nabers said that his propensity for slipping and falling on the field took away from his ability to make plays for the Giants and that he should be able to perform at a higher level in the games that follow. If he can pick up his performance this week, it should give the Giants a better chance to compete against the high-powered Rams.
