Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.

Carmelo Hayes' shocking addition to 946 at the conclusion of Monday night's episode of Raw was reportedly the brainchild of someone who was already in the group.

According to False Finish , 946 leader Royce Keys was the one who inquired about bringing Hayes into the stable.

The main event of Raw saw 946's Keys, Bronco Nima and Lucien Price face The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa and The Usos in a highly anticipated clash that had been weeks in the making.

In the closing moments of the match, an assailant attacked Sikoa with a crowbar before removing the bandana from his face and revealing his identity.

It was Hayes, who had been absent from WWE programming for several weeks, with his most recent match being a loss to then-United States champion Baron Corbin on the Aug. 14 episode of SmackDown.

Melo's absence was a major talking point among fans who were frustrated over his lack of utilization.

In Hayes, 946 added an elite in-ring worker with a ton of charisma and a history of success as a former NXT champion, North American champion and United States champion.

Also, with Keys, Nima, Price, Hayes and Jaida Parker, 946 now has a five-person unit for a WarGames match against The Bloodline at Survivor Series next month, assuming WWE goes in that direction.

TNA Reportedly Expressed Interest in Sheamus for BFG

Before bringing in former AEW star Max Caster to face Moose at Bound For Glory on Sunday, TNA reportedly discussed making a play for a multi-time WWE world champion.

According to False Finish , Sheamus was the "primary name that TNA was considering" to be Moose's opponent at its biggest pay-per-view of the year.

Fightful Select (h/t Geno Mrosko of Cageside Seats) reported in July that Sheamus was set to leave WWE upon the expiration of his contract, and Fightful Select (h/t Fightful's Ishaan Sharma ) later followed up by reporting that he officially became a free agent on Oct. 1.

Since then, The Celtic Warrior has primarily been linked to AEW with Fightful Wrestling reporting that some "big veteran names" in AEW were pushing for the company to sign him.

The 48-year-old Sheamus is among the most accomplished Superstars in WWE history as a four-time world champion, three-time United States champion, five-time tag team champion and one-time winner of the Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank and King of the Ring.

Because of that, it comes as little surprise that he is reportedly generating interest from multiple companies.

What isn't clear from False Finish's report is if Sheamus rebuffed TNA's interest, prompting them to go with Caster, or if TNA picked Caster despite mutual interest between the company and Sheamus.

If TNA does manage to land Sheamus, it will represent one of the promotion's biggest signings in recent memory, and give it a bona fide main eventer to lean on.

Reported Details Behind Penta, Stratton's MITB Wins

WWE reportedly made some creative changes regarding the winners of the men's and women's Money in the Bank ladder matches over the weekend.

According to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select (h/t H Jenkins of Ringside News), Penta "wasn't supposed to be" the Money in the Bank winner as of a month ago.

However, WWE's outlook reportedly changed after his strong performance in a losing effort against world heavyweight champion Roman Reigns on the Sept. 14 episode of Raw in Mexico City.

WrestleVotes on Fightful Select (h/t Felix Upton of Ringside News) also reported a significant contributing factor in booking Tiffany Stratton to win the women's Money in the Bank ladder match was the notion that so many fans thought Roxanne Perez would win.

Ultimately, WWE reportedly decided it wanted to do something "different to be different" in the form of making Tiffany a two-time Miss Money in the Bank.

Regardless of how the decisions were made, there are interesting stories to tell with both Money in the Bank contract holders.

Penta already has history with Reigns, but could just as easily cash in on the more vulnerable titleholder in WWE champion Sami Zayn.

Meanwhile, Stratton has been teaming up with WWE women's champion Chelsea Green, which suggests she is ripe for a double-cross.
