Andy Dalton's first pass of 2026 season was an interception

Former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton entered the Eagles - Bears Monday Night Football game in relief of Eagles QB Jalen Hurts , and threw an interception in the end zone in the second quarter.

Dalton's first pass attempt of the 2026 season was picked by the Bears ' Dillon Thieneman.

With the Eagles trailing 7-0, Hurts had to leave the game for evaluation after he was hit out of bounds by the Bears' D'Marco Jackson.

Hurts screamed on the sideline, apparently over the amount of time it took to clear him to re-enter the game.

Earlier in the month, Dalton, who was vying to back up Hurts, earned the No. 2 job over third-stringer Tanner McKee when McKee was among the team's inactives for their season opener.

Dalton was 12-of-19 for 104 passing yards with a touchdown during the team's third and final preseason game against his former team, the Cincinnati Bengals , at Lincoln Financial Field.

Dalton, Cincinnati's starting QB from 2011 to 2019, ranks second behind Ken Anderson among Cincinnati's all-time leaders in passing yardage.

In March, Dalton was traded by the Carolina Panthers to Philly for a 2027 seventh-round draft pick.

Dalton, 38, played in 13 games over the past three seasons for the Panthers.

Dalton started against the Bengals during the 2024 season for the fourth time since Cincinnati released him in 2020.

In June 2025, Dalton played dodgeball at a Savannah Bananas game at Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium.
