After barely seeing any action in the New York Giants' 34-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 6, running back Cam Skattebo appears poised to get ample touches again.
The former Arizona State Sun Devils star running back appears to be back in the mix after a "good week" of practice, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN
"It's been good, you know. I think I got taught a lesson," Skattebo said, via Raanan. "I don't know if that's from them or from myself, but I kind of had to step back and look at it and figure out why I was doing the things I was doing, what was happening. Came to practice, corrected those things, worked on them. Ready to go back out there and play ball."
Giants' Skattebo is Back in the RB Mix Ahead of Week 7 Game
Skattebo led the Giants in rushing yards in each of their first five games of the season, but his fumble in Week 5 apparently led to a major decrease in his role the following week against the Saints.
Instead, it was New York newcomer quarterback JJ McCarthy , who led the team on the ground in the Saints game, and he only had 26 rushing yards.
After releasing Najee Harris, New York now features a running back room with Skattebo, Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary.
The 24-year-old Skattebo only has 294 rushing yards and a touchdown on 81 carries this season, and seems aware that he's not exactly lighting it up on the field.
"I didn't do anything yet," Skattebo shared. "I took care of the ball during practice, and whatever my role is on Sunday is going to be my role and I'm going to give it everything I've got."
New York will face the Houston Texans on the road at Reliant Stadium in Houston this coming Sunday, looking to end its two-game winless streak and improve its NFC East-leading 3-2-1 record.
