The contract includes a $2 million 2028 escalator if Williams is a first- or second-team All-Pro in 2027, and a $2 million 2028 incentive if he is a first- or second-team All-Pro in 2028. If achieved, these amounts reduce his 2029 pay by up to $4 million.
As a practical matter, the four-year deal is guaranteed for the first two, at a total payout of $48.65 million. After that, it's year to year.
The final year has total compensation of $34 million, which gets the three-year, new-money average up to $30 million annually but likely will go away, one way or the other. That makes it a two-year extension with an average value of $28 million in new money.
