Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes spoke with reporters after the Week 6 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. He opened up about equaling another rare Tom Brady career milestone.
"My honest first reaction is they've said this from 97 on. I'm like, 'When did Tom (Brady) lose another game?' Because I feel every game I win, I tie him (laughter)." said Mahomes, "But in all seriousness, in all seriousness, it's always an honor to be in any conversation as far as winning football with him. That's the GOAT. He knows how to win football better than anyone really in any other sport. And so, if you can be mentioned in any category with him, it's special."
Mahomes tied Brady for the fewest starts (131) to reach 100 wins, adding another strong comparison to the legendary quarterback.
"As I've gone throughout my career, I think I've gotten better and better at winning. You know, it's not always pretty. It's not always how I want it to be," said Mahomes. "I want to throw three touchdowns, four touchdowns, and I want to put up big stats, but whenever your defense is playing like they are today, you can't force it. And after I forced that one early in the game, I just said, 'Hey, let's figure out the best way to win the football game,' and we were able to do that."
Mahomes threw for 272 passing yards and one interception in the Chiefs' 22-6 win on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.
