F1 Fan Shares How Ocon Saved Her From Severe Anxiety Attack and Still Remembers Her

An F1 fan shares a tale of how Esteban Ocon saved her life after she suffered a severe anxiety attack at the airport in 2023.

After Haas announced the departure of Ocon at the end of the 2026 season, eventually replacing him with Ferrari F1 junior Rafael Camara , a fan of the Frenchman shared a tale from her life that she had not spoken about on a public platform.

She dates it back to the 2023 season, when she was at the airport for Ocon 's arrival for the Hungarian GP. She describes what she remembers from the brief memory that another fan pushed her way to greet Ocon for photos and autographs.

In doing so, that person hurt the fan to the extent that she suffered a severe panic attack at that moment. She recalled hurting her ribs and falling unconscious, but hearing Ocon in the background, who was asking if she was okay.

She noted that Ocon did not leave until she was okay and fully conscious, even requesting the security personnel to call an ambulance if needed. However, she refused and was fit enough to leave on her own with her friends.

After a few days, she visited an emergency physician, and she was diagnosed with severe anxiety, aside from the ribs issue. The nurse noted that if not for the assistance from Ocon, she would have had to spend a night in an emergency room.

She wanted to share this tale to help F1 fans understand a different side of a driver. With some fans disregarding the Frenchman post his non-contract renewal, she came out in his defense – not forcing her opinion, but showing a different side.

In fact, she revealed that Ocon remembers her to this day, and whenever they happen to meet – largely at the Hungarian GP – he enquires about her health. She feels grateful, as she thinks the Frenchman gave her a second life.
