Chiefs vs. Chargers odds: Chiefs opens as 7.5-point favorite against divisional foe
The early season has zapped the buzz between the Kansas City and Los Angeles AFC West rivalry.
The Kansas City Chiefs will host a reeling Los Angeles Chargers team in Week 6 at Arrowhead stadium. The AFC West showdown lacks the buzz it has brought in recent years.
Before the season, few would have expected the opposite directions these teams find themselves going. The Chiefs are the AFC's lone unbeaten squad at 4-0, now coming off of their Week 5 bye week. The Chargers are the league's biggest surprises after dropping to 0-5 following a sloppy 23-17 loss on Sunday to the Denver Broncos .
According to FanDuel Sportsbook , Kansas City opened as a 7.5-point favorite in the game.
The Chiefs have been favored in each game this season, and they have rounded back into form after missing the playoffs in 2025. For the Chargers, virtually everything that could go wrong has. The team played against Denver down two starting wideouts and a top defensive talent in safety Derwin James. Quarterback Justin Herbert also played behind multiple backups along the offensive line.
Not surprisingly, Herbert will be entering Week 6 coming off of one of the worst performances of his career. He will try to get on track against a rested Kansas City squad.
Before the bye, the Chiefs' last action saw them defeat the Las Vegas Raiders on the road, bringing them to 2-0 in AFC West contests. Los Angeles won both 2025 contests with Kansas City, including the season opener in Brazil and a Week 15 contest at Arrowhead Stadium that saw star quarterback Patrick Mahomes lost for the season with a torn ACL.
