Star NFL wide receiver Tyreek Hill, currently a free agent, is reportedly on the cusp of returning to the league after a knee injury ended his season with the Miami Dolphins last year.

Hill has been heavily linked to the Kansas City Chiefs, the franchise he started his career with, following a pair of injuries to the Chiefs' top two wide receivers in Week 4. However, Hill's return to the league has been complicated by off-the-field issues, which could warrant punishment from the league .

Hill is currently under an active Personal Conduct Policy review stemming from allegations of domestic violence made by his ex-wife, Keeta Vaccaro. As Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio has noted, Hill's colored history could impact any punishment from the league for Vaccaro's allegations.

Hill's history complicates the situation. Past incidents, including a 2015 guilty plea to domestic assault and battery by strangulation in an incident involving his then-pregnant girlfriend, could result in an enhanced suspension — if the league finds a Personal Conduct Policy violation in connection with Vaccaro's allegations," Florio wrote.

Hill underwent a civil trial on Tuesday in relation to Hill's allegations, in which Vaccaro accused the wide receiver of "attempting a punch at her stomach while she was pregnant with his child in July 2024," per The Athletic's Jesse Newell.

"During civil trial today, Tyreek Hill's ex-wife Lakeeta Vaccaro Hill accused him of attempting a punch at her stomach while she was pregnant with his child in July 2024. Lakeeta said she put her hands on her stomach to block the strike, which made contact with her hands," Newell posted on X.

"She said Tyreek told her then that he didn't want the baby. Lakeeta described the day as 'probably the worst of all these abuse times.' She also alleged Tyreek pulled her hair and ripped it out the same day."

If Hill is found guilty of Vaccaro's allegations, it's hard to imagine a world in which the NFL does not punish him severely, halting any imminent return to the field.
