Eagles-Giants Final Injury Report: Tanner McKee questionable
Week 9 game status updates.
The Philadelphia Eagles issued their third and final injury report of the week on Friday in advance of their Week 9 game against the New York Giants.
The Eagles ruled six players OUT: DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks, Jihaad Campbell, Michael Carter II, Britain Covey, and Jonathan Jones.
Smith and Wicks haven't been able to play since Week 6. With them and Covey out, the Eagles are down to four wide receivers on the active roster: Darius Cooper, Makai Lemon, Hollywood Brown, and Elijah Moore. Look for Lemon to see the most targets. It'll be interesting (a very relative term in this case) to see how new starting quarterback Joe Milton jibes with this group.
Campbell is missing his second straight start. Jeremiah Trotter Jr. will get the nod next to Zack Baun.
MC2's absence leaves the Eagles thinner at safety and nickel cornerback than usual.
Covey being out puts Cooper DeJean in position to return punts.
The Eagles will be without their top backup cornerback on the outside with Jones not playing.
The Eagles ruled one player QUESTIONABLE: Tanner McKee.
McKee was full in practice on Wednesday with a chest injury. He was then limited on Thursday and Friday due to a rib injury. I wonder if the Eagles are just going to make him the emergency third quarterback behind Joe Milton as the starter and Cole Payton as the backup.
Players notably listed without a game status: Saquon Barkley, Jake Elliott, Jalyx Hunt, Jonathan Greenard, Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Dallas Goedert, Zack Baun, Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, Markel Bell, and Kenny Moore II.
Everyone mentioned here appeared on the injury report this week.
Barkley was DNP on Wednesday before being limited on Thursday and Friday. The Eagles should probably rest him but they're not going to do that.
Hunt was limited in practice all week but will play.
