PARIS (AP) — After beating his former club to stay unbeaten in the French league on Saturday, Paris FC coach Liam Rosenior sparked a brief melee on the field by brazenly celebrating in front of the traveling Strasbourg fans.

Rosenior upset Strasbourg fans after leaving in January for a short and ill-fated spell at Chelsea . Near the end of Saturday's game, the stadium announcer asked visiting Strasbourg fans to stop aggressive chanting about Rosenior.

After the final whistle, Rosenior appeared to goad Strasbourg's fans, patting his chest and then spreading his arms out as he celebrated the victory. Some pushing and shoving then followed between both sets of players.

"A small section of the fans, and I want to stress that it was only a small section, because Strasbourg is a fantastic club, were disrespectful," Rosenior said. "They insulted my family. My bench was very angry. So, for me, celebrating like that was obviously sending a message. I won't say anything more about this."

The win kept his side undefeated after five league games.
