The Welsh stadium could host the fight in the early hours of the morning to meet broadcaster Netflix’s demands for its huge US audience.The Welsh government could approve an extension to the stadium’s 10.30pm curfew. A Saturday, November 28 date has reportedly been discussed. That could make it an attractive option for a late-November fight. It also has a strong history of hosting major boxing events.Joe Calzaghe fought Mikkel Kessler at the stadium in 2007. The fight took place at around 2am. That timing could be repeated for Joshua and Fury if the event goes ahead in Cardiff.Boxing dealmaker Turki Al-Sheikh has reportedly been pushing for a 2am start. The timing would help the fight reach viewers in the United States during a more suitable evening slot.Netflix, which is expected to broadcast the contest, had wanted New York as the venue. The US location would have allowed the fight to take place at a more convenient time for American viewers.However, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has pushed for the fight to remain in the UK. Wembley was viewed as the preferred option. Hearn has reportedly refused to move forward unless the contracts are rewritten with improved financial terms.Wembley’s strict curfew has also caused problems.
