Linda Cohn clears the air after viral A’ja Wilson ‘insecurity’ over Caitlin Clark comments backfired

Linda Cohn is back with another take on A'ja Wilson and Caitlin Clark.

In light of A'ja Wilson's absence from Team USA for the 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, sports analyst Linda Cohn insinuated that she was insecure about Caitlin Clark.

Cohn's comments weren't received well, as fans of both stars called her out for starting an unnecessary debate as Wilson missed the tournament due to injury.

Following the ruthless reaction from WNBA fans, Cohn explained her point during the latest episode of her show on YouTube.

"When I'm watching the best player in the world doing that, playing those minutes, putting up those numbers, collecting Player of the Week and Player of the Month honors, and then suddenly she decided without any public announcement that she's not going to the World Cup just a couple of days before the team boards the plane, I'm going to ask questions," Cohn said.

She added, "I went right to the source, USA Basketball. It cited health reasons, no details given. I was curious. … So why didn't USA Basketball know about it? They detailed Kelsey Plum's injury but not A'ja's. I was just asking questions."

To be fair, Cohn's explanation makes sense, but she could have done it without bringing Clark into the conversation.

Suggesting that Wilson decided to sit out of the tournament to avoid being overshadowed by Clark is what made fans angry. It will be interesting to see if Cohn's explanation will take the heat off her or if the damage is beyond repair.
