VIDEO: Angelo State Rams pulled off a crazy overtime win at No. 17 Western Oregon

SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — The Angelo State University football team was hungry for the first win of the 2026 season this past Saturday, and the Rams were able to pull it off.

ASU outlasted No. 17 Western Oregon 29-28 in overtime in Eugene, Oregon. It was the longest road trip of the season, and it was well worth it for the Rams.

The Rams improved to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the Lone Star Conference, while dropping the Wolves to 2-2 and 0-2.

ASU quarterback Ayden Arp had a great performance, completing 28 of 44 passes for 280 yards and four touchdowns.

The Wolves got the ball first in overtime and scored a touchdown, and then it was the Rams' turn.

Arp threw a 12-yard TD strike to Alan Dobbins in the overtime period, getting the Rams within 28-27. And instead of kicking the PAT to force a second overtime session, ASU opted to roll the dice and go for a two-point try and end the game right there.

And that's exactly what the Rams did, as Arp found Trevor Winn in the end zone for the game-winning PAT reception.

And now the Rams will try to treat their fans to the first home win of the season when they face defending LSC champion No. 14 Central Washington at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 at LeGrand Stadium.
