According to our media partner the East Bay Times , Skyline High School in Oakland recently made the announcement -- citing low numbers and safety concerns.
Officials say the team does not have enough players due to injuries, transfers, and other circumstances.
Skyline follows Richmond, Kennedy-Richmond and Mount Diablo high schools, which have also canceled their programs.
Skyline plans to bring back varsity football next year.
