The Iowa football team had a successful trip out west, beating Washington 41-24 on Oct. 9.

Jeremy Hecklinski made his first career start under center and threw for three touchdowns. Kamari Moulton scored two touchdowns of his own and hit a career-high with 208 rushing yards.

Here are five numbers that tell the story of the Hawkeyes' win over Washington.

One of the biggest questions surrounding Iowa's offense was why wasn't the run game succeeding? On Friday night, the Hawkeyes cracked the code.

Moulton rushed for a career-high 208 yards on 26 carries. His previous best was 183 in the first game of the season against Northern Illinois.

He scored two touchdowns, one on a 56-yard rush where he found the gap, broke a handful of tackles and juked a defender to get the first touchdown of the game.

Moulton scored his second of the day in the fourth quarter, on a 3-yard rush.

Moulton's 208 yards were the most for an Iowa player in a road game since Marcus Coker had 252 at Minnesota in 2011, Big Ten Network reported.

Hecklinski made the most of his first collegiate start.

After an impressive showing during the Kids Day at Kinnick preseasaon scrimmage, Hecklinski fell short in the battle for Iowa's starting QB job. Hank Brown had started the first five games of the season before injuring his shoulder against Ohio State last week.

Brown was listed as a "game-time decision" on Friday's pregame availability report and did not appear in the game. Hecklinski, meanwhile, put on a show. He finished with 14 completions on 19 attempts, good for 202 yards and three touchdowns — two to DJ Vonnahme and one to Reece Vander Zee.

The Hawkeye defense sacked Washington quarterbacks a total of six times; five in the first half. The Huskies lost 50 yards on those six plays.

Cam Buffington and Preston Ries had two apiece and Jayden Montgomery and Bryce Hawthorne each recorded one.

Iowa was leading 27-3 heading into halftime and added on from there. This was Iowa's highest-scoring conference road game since tallying 51 at Maryland in 2021, according to Big Ten Network.

1965: The last time Iowa won in the regular season in the Pacific time zone

The last time the Hawkeyes were successful in a Pacific time zone regular-season game was a 27-7 win over Oregon State. It was Iowa's only win all season.
