The Washington Commanders just put star wide receiver Terry McLaurin on season-ending injured reserve after his knee injury against the San Francisco 49ers. The Commanders could now find themselves down another wideout when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8 following their bye week.
Treylon Burks has been downgraded in the team's latest injury report , per ESPN's John Keim. After being limited on Wednesday, Burks did not participate on Thursday due to a foot injury.
In his fifth year in the league, the 26-year-old Burks is on course to surpass his debut season with the Commanders last year. In just five games, he is one catch away from matching his 10 receptions last year. His 152 receiving yards and two touchdowns are already more than his total last season.

After McLaurin went down against the Niners, Burks stepped up for the Commanders with four catches for 66 yards, a season-high. Chig Okonkwo (seven catches, 69 yards) and Antonio Williams (three catches, 50 yards) also had increased roles.
Stefon Diggs figures to be the lead receiver moving forward in McLaurin's absence, but the role of secondary receiver is open for Burks and Williams to take. However, Burks' uncertain status against the Eagles could give Williams the upper hand in that matchup.
With the Eagles' season going off the rails after five straight losses , this is a great matchup for Jayden Daniels and the Washington offense to punish the Philly pass defense. But if Burks misses out, other Commanders receivers will need to make up for his absence.
