The fall sports season is heating up, and athletes throughout the Eugene-Springfield area have continued to deliver outstanding performances.
Every week, you get to vote for The Register-Guard's Athlete of the Week.
Here are the nominees for this week's girls Athlete of the Week based on performances from Sept. 12-18.

South Eugene senior Lucy Alkire accumulated 32 assists, eight digs and two aces Sept. 17 in a 3-0 win at Springfield.
Two days earlier, in a 3-0 win at Willamette, Alkire tallied 20 assists.
South Eugene junior Julianne Bawden ran a 5,000-meter personal best of 19 minutes, 2.7 seconds Sept. 12 at the Ash Creek Invitational.
Bawden's time is the 25th-fastest in the state this season, regardless of classification, and ranks 16th among Class 6A girls.
South Eugene freshman Tempe Bottalico dished out an assist Sept. 17 in the Axe's 2-1 win at Ida B. Wells.
Two days earlier, Bottalico scored in a 5-0 home win over McNary.
North Eugene senior midfielder Payton Buschelman scored a brace Sept. 17 in the Highlanders' 2-0 home win over Putnam.
Three days earlier, in a 2-0 win at Tualatin, Buschelman scored a goal and had an assist.
South Eugene senior Sofia Collins had 14 kills on a .667 hitting percentage Sept. 17 to help the Axe to a 3-0 win at Springfield.
Earlier that week, in a 3-0 win at Willamette, Collins produced eight kills on a .467 hitting percentage.
Marist Catholic junior forward Grace Hankins scored two goals and had an assist Sept. 17 in an 11-0 win over Elmira.
Pleasant Hill sophomore midfielder Emerson Hill delivered a pair of second-half assists Sept. 17 to help the Billies to a 2-2 draw at Central Linn.
Marist Catholic junior defender Lexi Hudson scored the opening goal Sept. 15 in Class 4A No. 1 Marist Catholic's 2-1 win over Class 5A No. 3 Silverton.
Marist Catholic senior Lauren Rohman racked up 14 kills, 12 assists, four digs and one ace Sept. 17 to lead the Spartans to a 3-0 home win over Marshfield.
Sheldon sophomore Brynn Smith had 17 kills and 10 digs Sept. 17 to lead the Irish to a 3-1 road win over Thurston.
Pleasant Hill junior Nellie Smith clocked a 5,000 season-best time of 20:38.9 Sept. 16 at the Silver Falls Oktoberfest Invitational.
Smith's time is the seventh-fastest in the state this season among Class 3A girls.
South Eugene senior Khloe Tesauro scored a goal and delivered an assist Sept. 17 win to lift the Axe to a 2-1 win at Ida B. Wells.
Tesauro also scored in South Eugene's 5-0 home win over McNary two days earlier.
Springfield junior Bella Wells took 15th place at the Sept. 12 Ash Creek Invitational with a season-best 5,000 time of 19:05.2.
Wells' time is the 27th-fastest in the state this season regardless of classification, and fourth-fastest among Class 5A girls.
