DETROIT – The Tigers, as expected, picked up the $10 million team option on right-hander Drew Anderson for 2027 and declined a $12 million option with a $2 million buyout on reliever Kenley Jansen.

In addition, the Tigers signed reliever Jacob Waguespack to a one-year, $1.3 million major league contract for 2027.

Waguespack, who will turn 33 on Thursday, Nov. 5, can earn an additional $1.5 million in performance bonuses —$25,000 for reaching both 45 innings and 50 innings pitched; $50,000 for reaching 55 innings, 60 innings and 65 innings pitched.

Acquired in a cash deal from Milwaukee on June 10 last season, Waguespack became one of manager AJ Hinch's most trusted relievers, posting a 2.49 ERA and 0.915 WHIP covering 47 innings in 35 games.

Anderson, 32, started the season in the Tigers' bullpen but finished in the rotation, producing a 2.61 ERA and 1.2 WHIP in 11 starts. He is expected to compete for a rotation spot in 2027.

The Tigers also activated seven players off the 60-day injured list: Reliever Will Vest, starter Reese Olson, shortstop Trey Sweeney and outfielders Kerry Carpenter, Parker Meadows, Wenceel Perez and Matt Vierling.

To clear space on the 40-man roster, the Tigers removed four players: Pitchers Bailey Horn and Sawyer Gipson-Long were placed on unconditional release waivers; outfielder Corey Julks was outrighted and is now a free agent; pitcher Yilber Dias was designated for assignment.

The Tigers' 40-man roster stands at 40 players.
