Look: Myles Garrett officially returns to practice for Rams
Myles Garrett has been designated to return from IR and is back at practice with the Rams ahead of their Week 9 game.
Myles Garrett missed the Los Angeles Rams ' last seven games while on injured reserve, but he's inching toward a long-awaited return to the field. The Rams have designated Garrett to return from IR, which means he's back at practice and his 21-day window has officially opened.
The Rams now have three weeks to decide whether to activate Garrett off IR, which they obviously plan to do. He can continue practicing throughout the 21-day window until he's activated.
The Rams shared a video of Garrett heading back onto the practice field for the first time since Week 1, marking his official return.
Garrett underwent knee surgery after the Rams' season opener, which landed him on injured reserve. He's been out of action ever since, leaving a void on defense. Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart have been solid at outside linebacker but there's no replacing a two-time Defensive Player of the Year.
It's unclear if Garrett will play against the Commanders this Sunday but returning to practice is unquestionably a step in the right direction.
