Birkhead helped Memorial get back on track with a 59-7 victory against Lubbock Coronado, giving the Mavericks their first District 2-5A Division II win of the season.
The senior quarterback threw four touchdown passes, connecting twice with Clayton Brumley and twice with Krew Bailey. His scoring throws went for 7, 8, 14 and 74 yards.
Birkhead helped Memorial build a 36-0 halftime lead and improve to 3-3 overall after opening district play with a tough loss to Abilene Cooper.
Hodges facilitated Legacy's offense Friday night, helping the Leopards snap a two-game losing streak with a 37-14 road victory against Lubbock-Cooper.
