Florida 's first SEC opponent will present a different challenge than the Gators faced in the opening two weeks.

Auburn enters Saturday night winners of their first pair of games as well. First-year head coach Alex Golesh led the Tigers to victories over Baylor and Southern Mississippi; Auburn averaged 501 yards of total offense per game to start the season — that ranks No. 8 in the SEC.

Auburn's rushing game has been especially potent to begin the 2026 campaign with consecutive 300-yard performances for the first time since 2021. Quarterback Byrum Brown is the main catalyst of that attack — against Southern Mississippi, the senior accounted for 319 total yards and three touchdowns. He also completed 18 of 29 passes for 226 yards while adding an additional 88 on the ground.

Brown is flanked by Omar Mabson III, who rushed for 108 yards against Southern Mississippi, and Jeremiah Cobb , who added 85. Overall, the Tigers had three players eclipse 80 yards rushing in the 43-8 win.

One thing to watch in Saturday's game is how well the Tigers do on third down. Thus far, Golesh's team is 17 of 33 when attempting to extend drives. Four of those five conversions have come in the fourth quarter. Florida 's defense is allowing opponents to convert 40% of the time in the same scenario.

Defensively, Auburn has yet to surrender a rushing touchdown this season. That creates quite an intriguing matchup against star running back Jadan Baugh and a Florida rushing attack that averages 247.5 yards per game.

One final statistic to highlight is kicker Alex McPherson 's 94 career extra points, on which he is perfect throughout his career. If Saturday's game is close, McPherson has already connected on a 55-yard field goal against Southern Mississippi.
