Former Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill addressed the claims from fake NFL player Daejon Love that the pair were good friends.
Federal authorities arrested Love for allegedly defrauding victims out of over $1 million by posing as a fake San Francisco 49ers wide receiver.
With Love's story and clips of his fake life going viral across the NFL, he claimed to be friends with Tyreek Hill in one of them. Now, Hill has addressed if that claim was true or not.
Tyreek Hill addresses his bond with Daejon Love
Hill shared a video discussing the situation, claiming to know Love very well, highlighting his physical achievements and saying they trained together.
"People want to know if I know Daejon Love. To be honest, that's my boy. We used to train together and everything. I never thought to really bring it up because, bro ran like a 4.2. The shots you see on the beach? He was probably trolling and having a good time. Bro was really like that too… He used to come to Diego with me… That's what everybody want to know."
It's hard to ascertain if Hill is committing to the bit and adding onto the jokes about Love since the situation was revealed.
Daejon Love never played college football either, so Hill might just be joking around with the fans by giving legitimacy to the man under investigation for being a fake football player.
If Hill and Love were genuinely friends, did he not realise at all that somebody he trained with is pretending to be an NFL player? This is likely a joke by the 32-year-old to play into this situation.
With the NFL season days away, this story will quickly be forgotten once players are back out on the field.
Hill isn't in the NFL right now either, remaining a free agent after being released by the Dolphins in February 2025.
He's expected to spend the season out recovering from knee injuries, although a late-season signing with a contender can't be ruled out for Hill if he can get healthy by the end of the year.
An NFL game can definitely be ruled out for Daejon Love, who will now face trial over the allegations against him.
