Australian point guard Luke Paul has committed to Duke , a source told Rivals.
The 17-year-old, 6-foot-6 prospect signed a multi-year deal with the NBL Next Stars program earlier this year, but has now opted to play college basketball for Jon Scheyer beginning with the 2027-28 season. Paul, considered a potential first-round pick in the 2028 NBA Draft, becomes the Blue Devils' second commitment in the 2027 class, joining four-star power forward Kager Knueppel — the younger brother of Kon.
A pass-first guard, Paul led Australia to a gold medal at the 2025 FIBA U16 Asia Cup, averaging 14.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. He was named tournament MVP and earned All-Star Five honors after his standout performance, including a near triple-double in the championship game against China with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists.
Paul impressed once again at the 2026 FIBA U17 World Cup, averaging 15.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game.
Before arriving on Duke's campus, Paul is set to play this season for the Cairns Taipans of Australia's NBL.
