Undefeated Briarwood to make first ever appearance on Game Night Live

WARRENTON, GA (WJBF)- For the first time in school history, the Briarwood Buccaneers will be featured on game night live as they're taking on the defending state champions the Brentwood War Eagles.

The buccaneers have had a special season so far, as they're a perfect 8-0 on the season for the first time since 1976. They're coming off a dominant 45-14 win at home against Pinewood Christian.

Head coach Bo Fleming credits the senior leadership on his team for their season, but he knows the challenge ahead facing the defending state champions in Brentwood, especially with the top seed in their region on the line.

"We got to focus. This might be the hardest week of the season for us and me personally having fall break, and having two days off, I don't really like it as coaches, but you got to focus and realize you got one thing on Friday and that's them," Fleming said.

"To beat those guys, it'd be a great accomplishment but honestly it's just another game in the game regular season for us. We have to finish strong in the regular season to make a playoff push."

Kickoff set for Friday, 7:30 p.m. at Briarwood Academy.
