An exciting player is coming to replace a club legend at Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp's departure confirmed that it was the end of an era at Anfield. The German left the club more than two years ago now and the team that is now lining up under Andoni Iraola looks markedly different.
There's no Mo Salah, no Trent Alexander-Arnold nor even Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez. The future Klopp envisioned for the Reds is now being spearheaded by the likes of Florian Wirtz and Jeremy Jacquet.
It has been orchestrated by Richard Hughes, who has not been short of criticism and who has also departed the club for pastures new.
But the change that has undergone is only the beginning. There will be more on the way very soon.
Why two club legends will leave Liverpool in 2027
This summer we saw Salah and Andy Robertson depart. They were the linchpins of the Klopp era who were integral to the success of the team.
Both will go down as two of the greatest to ever play for the club. Salah in particular was basically a King in Merseyside. The Egyptian King so to speak - an ethereal deity who felt superhuman most of the time.
But next summer could be an even bigger foundational change.
Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker are yet to extend their contracts that expire at the end of the season. At this stage both are going to be leaving the club.
Given their ages, it is unlikely they will be extending any further.
Giorgi Mamardashvili confirms he's coming to replace Alisson
When the Georgian was signed for £29m in 2024 it became very obvious that he would be coming to take over from Alisson in the future.
However, Mamardashvili's shaky performances in a Liverpool shirt so far combined with the acquisition of Lucca Brughmans have raised some questions.
But Mamardashvili confirmed he is the man to replace Liverpool's club legend. During the international break he was in inspired form, often keeping his country in the games that they played.
Mamardashvili's stunning performance against Northern Ireland, where he made several key saves and stopped a penalty as well was the icing on the cake - the performance that confirmed he is world-class and that he is ready to be coming in to replace Alisson.
Iraola is also a fan. He wanted to sign Mamardashvili while he was at Bournemouth. So, the matter is settled.
