Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley is as motivated as ever in 2026.

After a strong 2025 campaign, Henley is ready to show the NFL what he can do. In a recent interview with Omar Navarro of Chargers.com , Henley said he's more motivated than ever to prove that he and the Chargers are for real.

"The reason why I would say more [motivated] than ever is because it's another year and another opportunity to do better," Henley said. "Another chance, another showing of who I really am out there on that field, on tape to display to the world.

"With opportunities missed in the past, like I said, we don't dwell on that," Henley added. "We move forward and that's all I see right now, opportunities in the future. I see opportunities now. I'm amped, I'm motivated and I can't wait to go."

The Chargers got off to a rough start to the season, losing to the Cardinals in an embarrassing Week 1 outing. However, with Week 2 on the horizon, they'll look to bounce back against their rivals, the Raiders .

The defense was a major concern after the season opener, and plenty of eyes will be on it in the upcoming matchup. Henley was one of the few bright spots on that side of the ball in Week 1, recording eight tackles and half a sack.

The 26-year-old will look to carry that momentum into Week 2 and get his team on the win column. In 2025, Henley led the team in total tackles with 103, adding 3.5 sacks and five pass breakups.
