New video angle shows Indiana Fever were right not to eject fan after A’ja Wilson confrontation

A'ja Wilson was beside herself after seeing a fan try to heckle her, and tried to have him ejected. But new footage shows that would have been the wrong call.

A frustrated Wilson immediately rushed to the fan to confront him after she saw him heckle her and throw insults her way.

However, in a statement released after the game, the Indiana Fever confirmed that they reviewed the altercation and determined that the fan had not violated the code of conduct.

One fan on X shared footage that showed the incident between A'ja Wilson and the Indiana Fever fan sitting courtside.

While it may have been wildly disrespectful to A'ja Wilson, the footage confirms that the fan only pointed at her and didn't do anything that violated the WNBA's fan code of conduct.

After the game, the Indiana Fever confirmed in a statement that the fan's actions and words had been reviewed and that he had not been ejected, as he didn't violate the WNBA's fan code of conduct.

"Following a report of a comment directed toward a player, arena security spoke with the fan involved and witnesses.

"Security determined there was no violation of the Fan Code of Conduct, the fan was not removed from the arena. We consider the matter closed."

While there is no word on what words caught the ire of Wilson, even the Aces superstar did not allude to any foul or unacceptable language being used.

Rather, the point itself was considered the disrespectful gesture for the reigning league MVP, who did not hold back on the matter or the fan after the game.

The Fever have garnered a somewhat hostile reputation within the WNBA for housing an aggressive fanbase over the last few years.

Of course, this is far from the only courtside altercation between players and fans, as former NBA player Enes Kanter stirred up controversy when he attended an Indiana Fever game during the height of the league's controversy.

Hopefully, the fan incident is behind them and the Aces and Fever can continue to fight it out in Game 3 to see who gets one step closer to the WNBA Finals.
