Vincent Kompany wanted one more signing at Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany got two players that he wanted this summer in Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari.

However, the bossman also wanted a third player per Bild journalists Julian Agardi and Michel Schröer (as captured by @iMiaSanMia ). While that player was not identified in the report, Kompany was talked off of that demand by his higher-ups and instead put his trust into the club's academy:

Vincent Kompany would have liked to make a third major signing this summer, alongside Brown and Saibari. However, after a lengthy discussion with the club's bosses, it was agreed to once again put faith in the club's youth academy, continue developing young players and integrate them into the first-team squad as effectively as possible. The permanent signing of Bara Sapoko Ndiaye ultimately also came at Kompany's insistence.

The season will play out and it will be proven whether or not Kompany was correct with his desire for one more transfer. Bringing back Sapoko Ndiaye should help Kompany feel satisfied with the summer haul, if his "insistence" on bringing back the youngster is true.

Bayern Munich is well-stocked, though, and it is easy to see the head coach could be convinced that he is equipped with his first team arsenal.
