New England Patriots cornerback Carlton Davis III intends to return from injury in Week 8 against the Miami Dolphins and is confident in his health with the game on the horizon.

According to Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller , Davis stated to the media how excited he is to have returned to practicing with the team in full swing ahead of the matchup.

"I'm ready to go," said Davis. "...It's going to be great having all the guys back. Being at full power and being able to go out there and feed off each other and make plays together."

Davis is preparing to return from a neck injury that has sidelined him for the last three weeks. His availability heading into Week 8 will provide a significant boost to New England's secondary as the unit prepares to contain the Dolphins' receiving corps.

Through three games played thus far this season, Davis has recorded 16 total tackles, a pass breakup and a tackle for loss. Those numbers reflect his contributions to the Patriots ' defense amid much time missed already this season.

The Dolphins' receiving unit is led by wide receivers Malik Washington, Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell. Davis might draw coverage assignments against all three of those wide receivers, depending on the Patriots' defensive game plan. His experience and physical style will be valuable in limiting the Dolphins' passing production.

Davis has the rest of the week to work his way back into form in practice prior to New England's showdown against Miami on Sunday.
