Softball roundup: Hartshorne, Kiowa take wins late in week

Hartshorne took down Oktaha 10-2 Thursday and Kiowa defeated Tuksa 6-1 Friday.

L Johnson headlined the Lady Miners' big hitting game against Tushka in a run rule.

Oktaha struck first in the top of the first inning with a run, but Hartshorne matched to tie the game 1-1 at the end of the first. That was just the start for the Lady Miners. Hartshorne then scored three runs in each of the next three innings to put away the 10-2 victory.

Of the Lady Miners' 13 hits, Johnson had three hits and added three RBIs. R Stone, P Vaughn and R Willia all had two hits a piece. S Bills spent all five innings in the circle where she struck out three and allowed six hits.

The Cowgirls outhit Tushka on their way to a 6-1 victory Friday.

Kiowa went up 5-0 through three innings with three runs scored in the second and two scored in the third. Tushka's only run came in the fourth inning and the Cowgirls' final run came in the seventh.

Emma Bear was responsible for three of Kiowa's nine hits. A Bradf had two hits.

Izzy Connor struck out four, walked three, allowed eight hits but only one run.
