Florida football was knocked out of the US LBM college football coaches poll after its 38-19 loss to South Carolina on homecoming on October 10.

The Florida Gators (4-2, 2-2 SEC) were ranked as high as No. 8 following an upset win over Ole Miss to close September 4-0, but have since dropped back-to-back games to Missouri and South Carolina by an average margin of 23.5 points.

The Gators were ranked No. 15 last week leading up to the South Carolina game.

"We clearly haven't arrived the last two weeks because we've been exposed in a pretty substantial way," Florida coach Jon Sumrall said. "And this conference will do it to you. But I think sometimes, and I said this last week as well, sometimes when you're winning, it masks maybe the things that are not going right or that you're not doing well."

UF is receiving 32 votes in the poll behind James Madison, coached by former Florida coach Billy Napier, who is receiving 33 votes.

Florida will look to regroup when it plays at No. 6 Texas on October 17 (noon, ABC). The Longhorns are coming off a 27-24 upset loss to rival Oklahoma, in which starting quarterback Arch Manning threw a pair of crucial interceptions.
