Chicago Sky owner’s ruthless response to Enes Kanter’s lawsuit is going viral

Former NBA star Enes Kanter Freedom receives a response after suing the Chicago Sky.

Enes Kanter Freedom was ejected and indefinitely banned from the Wintrust Arena on August 23, 2026, due to a confrontation with Chicago Sky's Natasha Cloud.

Kanter was also wearing a T-Shirt with 'Woman noun. Adult human female' text, which led to Cloud engaging in a verbal battle with the controversial basketball star.

Following the altercation, Kanter sued the Sky for allegedly violating his First Amendment free speech rights.

Chicago Sky owner Michael Alter responds to Enes Kanter's lawsuit

Kanter's battle with the Sky took another turn when the team's principal owner, Michael Alter, released a statement calling out the 34-year-old's lawsuit.

"We received word that the entity owning the Chicago Sky is being sued by Mr. Enes Kanter Freedom for allegedly violating his First Amendment rights. This lawsuit is meritless and frivolous.

"Freedom's claim that he was removed from Wintrust Arena due to his speech is false," Alter said in his statement, per Kareem Copeland on X .

Alter added, "As his own complaint acknowledges, he wore the shirt in question for multiple hours without any contact with security.

"Security removed Freedom only after he violated fan code of conduct by rising from his seat, gesturing at a player, and stepping toward the court. Freedom was removed for his conduct, not his speech. We look forward to the truth prevailing in court."

The Sky owner essentially called Kanter Freedom's lawsuit baseless as the team's legal counsel prepares to challenge it in court.

Meanwhile, Kanter Freedom is focused on his next controversy after suggesting he should be made the WNBA's next commissioner after Cathy Engelbert announced her retirement from the position at the end of the season.
