ENDWELL, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - One former Maine-Endwell Spartans football star who helped lead the team to a state championship as offensive MVP in 2022 officially opened his season and collegiate career with St. Thomas.
Anthony Policare, who made the move over from Buffalo to the Tommies this past offseason, would start for the team as they opened their season against Division II Winona State. In the team's 15-9 win at home, he would throw 13-for-22 for 166 yards and a touchdown in the game, while also rushing for 73 yards and getting in the end zone using his legs as well.
It is reported that he is in a QB1 battle, so he did well to show out in his debut.
We'll see if he keeps his spot when he heads on the road with the Tommies on Saturday to face North Dakota.
