Where Texas volleyball ranks in Sept. 28 poll after splitting Tennessee, Kentucky matches
After beating Tennessee and losing to Kentucky, here is where Texas volleyball is ranked in the latest AVCA poll.
The Longhorns (5-5, 1-1) fell to eighth in the country after splitting their opening weekend in SEC play . Texas, then ranked No. 9, pulled off the reverse sweep Friday night against No. 13 Tennessee but it couldn't keep the momentum going and got swept Sunday by No. 3 Kentucky .
Rankings featured many of the teams as last week but previously unranked Utah found its way to No. 21. The Utes upset previously ranked No. 21 Colorado in its conference opener with a sweep and the Buffaloes fell to No. 24 in Monday's poll.
Texas plays in its SEC home opener against Mississippi State at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Gregory Gymnasium.
