Clemson senior defensive tackle named game time decision ahead of big game
Ahead of Clemson’s matchup against Virginia Tech we have an injury update on defensive tackle Vic Burley.
Clemson will have to wait until closer to kickoff to determine whether defensive tackle Vic Burley can play against Virginia Tech.
Burley was designated a game-time decision on the ACC's final availability report ahead of Saturday's matchup at Memorial Stadium . He had been listed as questionable on each of the previous two reports, leaving his status unresolved entering the evening.
The change to Burley's designation was Clemson's only update on the final report. His availability gives the Tigers one remaining question along the defensive front as they prepare to return to conference play.
Virginia Tech, meanwhile, will be without starting cornerback Thomas Williams. The Hokies initially listed Williams as questionable when the first availability report was released Wednesday, but he has since been ruled out.
His absence leaves Virginia Tech without a starter in its secondary against a Clemson offense looking to establish more consistency through the air.
The Tigers enter the matchup at 4-2 overall and 2-1 in ACC play following last weekend's 37-0 victory over Charleston Southern. Virginia Tech brings a 5-2 record and a 2-2 conference mark into Death Valley after defeating Georgia Tech .
Clemson's homecoming matchup against the Hokies is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday on ESPN.
