For the sixth consecutive year, Brazilian football will have representatives in the finals of the CONMEBOL Libertadores and CONMEBOL Sudamericana, South America's premier club competitions. In the Libertadores final, Palmeiras will face Estudiantes, while Atlético-MG will take on Boca Juniors in the Sudamericana.

In the Libertadores, Brazilian dominance is even greater. Since 2019, teams from the country have won every edition. In 2020 (Palmeiras vs. Santos), 2021 (Palmeiras vs. Flamengo), 2022 (Flamengo vs. Athletico-PR), 2024 (Botafogo vs. Atlético-MG) and 2025 (Flamengo vs. Palmeiras), the finals were all-Brazilian affairs. In 2019, Flamengo defeated Argentina's River Plate, and in 2023, Fluminense beat fellow Argentine side Boca Juniors.

During this period, Palmeiras won the title in 2020 and 2021. Having also been crowned champions in 1999, they are chasing a fourth title and will face Argentina's Estudiantes, winners in 1968, 1969, 1970 and 2009, who beat Flamengo on penalties this Thursday (22).

To reach the final, the Alviverde defeated Fluminense, also on penalties, on Wednesday (21). The CONMEBOL Libertadores final will take place on November 28 at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Brazil has had representatives in the CONMEBOL Sudamericana final for six seasons. Over that period, only Athletico-PR, in 2021, lifted the trophy, beating Red Bull Bragantino. Since then, São Paulo (2022), Fortaleza (2023), Cruzeiro (2024) and Atlético-MG themselves (2025) have finished as runners-up.

This year, Galo have the chance to win their first title in the competition and bring the Sudamericana trophy back to Brazilian football. In the semifinals, they eliminated Uruguay's Montevideo City Torque on Wednesday (21) and will face Boca Juniors in the final, after the Argentine side knocked out Vasco on Tuesday (20).

The final will take place on the 21st of next month at the Estadio Metropolitano Barranquilla in Barranquilla, Colombia.
