Kirk Ferentz visibly emotional after miracle Iowa win 'we'll all remember'

In a battle of long-time Big Ten foes, Iowa snatched victory away from Michigan with a last-second, walk-off touchdown to secure a 20-19 win.

The Hawkeyes were down most of the game, but executed a game-winning drive to escape Ann Arbor with the victory. With just two seconds left, Hank Brown found Reece Vander Zee in the corner of the endzone to stun the Michigan crowd.

Iowa's offense struggled for much of the day, but the defense and special teams kept them alive enough for the unit to finally score 13 points in the fourth quarter. Thanks to a few fortunate plays, Iowa took advantage of one final play to walk-off in the Big House.

Head coach Kirk Ferentz has seen a lot of football in his time with the Hawkeyes, so he knows how important road conference games can be. The 71-year-old definitely understood how impressive this win was for his squad.

Iowa's miracle win over Michigan put the Hawkeyes at 4-0 on the season, but this win was certainly the most memorable of them all thus far. In his interview with CBS' Jenny Dell after the game, Ferentz was clearly emotional over the result.

"One thing about these guys is they don't quit, they fight" he said.

Then, when Dell asked if Ferentz could if this win could compare to any other in the Big House, the veteran coach said there wasn't another.

"Never one like this, it's one we'll all remember," he added.

Ferentz has been leading Iowa's football team since 1998, and he's battled Michigan in the Big Ten for the last three decades. He is now 8-9 in his career against the Wolverines, but this win was certainly special in the way it came about.
