WWE Rumors on Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi, Bayley's Contract and New Women's Tag Team Eyed

Rumored WrestleMania 43 Main Event Plans

WrestleMania 43 in April 2027 is still months away, but it sounds like there's already an idea for the headlining match for the two-night marquee event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Per Geno Mrosko of Cageside Seats, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the expectation is for WWE to build toward having Roman Reigns defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Oba Femi in the main event of WrestleMania 43 Night 2. Meltzer noted that plans can change between now and then, but the initial idea is for Reigns and Femi to close the show.

There are many different directions that WWE can go to have Femi take on Reigns, who defeated CM Punk for the World Heavyweight title in the WrestleMania 42 Night 2 main event this past April. Reigns cut a promo calling out Femi after his title win, setting an early stage for their eventual showdown.

Femi already passed up a title shot against Reigns after winning the King of the Ring tournament to settle his rivalry with Brock Lesnar. The rising young Superstar could be the favorite to win the men's Royal Rumble in January.

While the plan isn't set in stone, Reigns vs. Femi is a highly anticipated heavyweight clash that fans will surely be excited to see.

Many have been wondering about Bayley's future in WWE, but it sounds like she won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Mrosko ), while Bayley has not yet signed a new deal with WWE, it appears that she agreed to terms with the company a few weeks back, and it's expected that she will sign a new contract eventually.

Bayley was off TV for a few weeks, leading many to wonder if she was departing WWE when her contract expired. However, she returned from her hiatus during the Sept. 7 episode of Monday Night Raw.

According to Meltzer, it was after Bayley agreed to terms on a new deal that WWE "started treating her like a member of the roster again" by mentioning her in storylines in the weeks leading up to her return.

Bayley is one of the most beloved Superstars in WWE, and it appears that she will remain a cornerstone of the women's division for years to come.

WWE is reportedly considering a new pairing between two Superstars who haven't built much momentum this year.

According to a report from False Finish (h/t Mrosko ), there have been "creative discussions regarding a potential team of Ivy Nile and Jordynne Grace," both of whom have been off television in recent weeks.

Nile was previously a member of the American Made faction, though she mostly worked as a valet and didn't wrestle much. Grace debuted on the main roster in January, but an ankle injury derailed her initial push.

Mrosko also noted that WWE filed to trademark "Iron Built," matching similar filings for wrestler or faction names and catchphrases. Nile and Grace are known for their bodybuilding prowess and impressive physiques.

After breaking up Paige from the Bella Twins, WWE needs new tag teams to challenge Fatal Influence, who won the tag titles in July. Pairing Grace and Nile together could give new opportunities to Superstars who have struggled to get over as singles competitors.
