Backstage WWE and AEW Rumors on Roman Reigns, Ruby Soho and More
Roman Reigns continues to draw some of the biggest reactions of any WWE Superstar on the roster, but how is he viewed from a character standpoint behind the scenes?
Roman Reigns continues to draw some of the biggest reactions of any WWE Superstar on the roster, but how is he viewed from a character standpoint behind the scenes?
The answer to that question headlines this collection of pro wrestling rumors, featuring reports from the most trusted insiders, also including the in-ring status of Ruby Soho and more.
World heavyweight champion Roman Reigns receives deafening reactions when he enters the arena on Monday nights, but that is not always reflective of the character that appears on WWE Raw.
The Tribal Chief is an egotistical narcissist who has managed to again insulate himself with The Bloodline, forming a shield around himself with his family—the same family he has openly gaslit to get what he wants from them.
False Finish reported that Reigns is listed as a heel by WWE Creative internally.
That is in line with the manner in which he has been booked of late. The way he talked down to, berated and belittled Solo Sikoa on the most recent episode of Raw before getting his comeuppance certainly felt like the actions of a villain.
Hopefully, the idea that Reigns is a heel in the eyes of WWE officials will only help improve this third chapter of the Bloodline, which has struggled to make the same impact as the original incarnation, which can be attributed to creative inconsistencies and too much ambiguity.
Ruby Soho has not wrestled a match for All Elite Wrestling since February 7, 2024, when she teamed with Saraya in a losing effort against Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale during a taping of Rampage.
Since then, she has given birth to a child and opened a cafe called Victory Road with her partner, Angelo Parker. Amid all of the major life changes, there has been little update on her AEW status or a potential return to the squared circle...until now.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported: "Fightful Select sources are told that Ruby Soho was actually at the AEW tapings in Cincinnati way back in June. We were also told that Ruby was getting clearances from AEW medical for her eventual return to the ring."
He added: "We did hear that some ideas had been floated around for Ruby over the past number of months, but have not learned of anything solid being enacted. Ruby has not been a regular backstage at AEW, either."
While there is no clear indication she will be back any time soon, Sapp's report should be considered a "win" for Soho's fans, who have not heard much from or about the star of late.
If she does return to the squared circle, she will return to an AEW women's division that is much different from the one she last encountered over two years ago.
False Finish also reported WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio pushed for El Fiscal's inclusion in the tournament to crown a No. 1 contender to Roman Reigns' World Heavyweight Championship.
El Fiscal squared off against Rey Fenix Monday night on Raw. Ultimately, he lost to the AAA cruiserweight champion, but he delivered a solid performance that may result in more exposure in the coming weeks and months.
Mysterio is a tremendous ambassador for lucha libre and the talent in AAA. He is a general manager on the screen, but if there is anyone who can influence the power players backstage and get more TV exposure for the young stars tearing it up in Mexico, it is The Master of the 619.
El Fiscal, 26, is the son of legendary luchador Abismo Negro.
