Carson Kvapil to drive No. 8 O'Reilly car for JR Motorsports in 2027

Carson Kvapil will have a new number in 2027. Earlier in the month, JR Motorsports announced that Kvapil will drive the iconic No. 8 car during the 2027 NASCAR O'Reilly Series season. Kvapil will replace Sammy Smith, who announced his departure from JR Motorsports at the end of the year.

It has been an amazing stretch for the driver of the No. 1 car after winning two races. Kvapil currently sits third in the Chase standings with a 37-point deficit and seven races remaining. The JR Motorsports driver is right in the thick of the championship hunt in the O'Reilly Series.

After running a few races in the No. 9 JR Motorsports entry and DGM Racing, Kvapil will have a stable home in the No. 8 car. The JR Motorsports driver is enjoying a breakout season that isn't over yet. By the time 2027 arrives, Kvapil hopes he is an O'Reilly Series champion.
