Illegal stores, workshops razed on DLF-3 green belt in Gurgaon to avert snarls at NH-8 entry
Gurgaon: 12 unauthorised shops and workshops on DLF-3 green belt near Moulsari Avenue were demolished to ease NH-48 entry traffic; some stayed by SC.
Gurgaon: Twelve unauthorised structures occupying a green belt in DLF-3 were removed on Wednesday. The establishments were razed during a demolition drive to ease traffic congestion at the entry point from NH-8.The structures included a scrap dealer’s unit, a dhaba, three motorcycle workshops, four paan shops, A1 Dhaba, a meat shop, a car-painting shop and a car-wash service station, officials said. The removal is expected to facilitate smoother movement of vehicles entering DLF-3 from the highway. Officials said the demolition had cleared the unauthorised establishments and “widened the usable carriageway within the road’s right of way (ROW)”.Town planner Amit Madholia told TOI, “Several unauthorised structures had come up on the green belt earmarked in the approved layout plan of DLF-3, narrowing the road space at the Moulsari Avenue entry from NH-8 and creating a traffic bottleneck. We removed these structures to restore the available (ROW) and facilitate smoother traffic movement. A few structures could not be removed due to a stay order passed by Supreme Court and their status will be governed by the court’s directions.”The action also seeks to restore the intended use of the green area, which had been occupied by a mix of commercial activities, including food outlets, workshops and vehicle-related services. The clearance near Moulsari Avenue is significant for traffic entering DLF-3 from NH-8, as the structures had constricted the road space at a key access point. Officials expect the removal of the bottleneck to improve traffic flow, although the extent of the improvement will depend on traffic volumes and movement along the adjoining roads. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Gurgaon | Silver Rate in Gurgaon | Bank Holidays in Gurgaon | Public Holidays in Gurgaon | Gurgaon AQI | Weather in Gurgaon | Petrol Price in Gurgaon | Diesel Price in Gurgaon | CNG Price in Gurgaon | LPG Price in GurgaonStay updated with the latest Gurgaon news.
