Enes Kanter Freedom is taking his fight straight to the top, demanding a meeting with Adam Silver.
Enes Kanter's feud with the WNBA has only gotten messier lately. After mockingly announcing he was going to enter the WNBA Draft to make a point about women's sports, league commissioner Cathy Engelbert shut that down, ruling him completely ineligible.
The drama peaked once again after showing up for Game 3 of the WNBA Finals in Atlanta. Venue security tried to put him in a private suite for safety reasons, but Kanter refused, insisting on sitting in the floor seats he paid for. When he wouldn't budge, police turned him away entirely.
Enes Kanter wants answers from Adam Silver
Enes Kanter is taking his fight straight to the top, demanding a sit-down with Adam Silver after claiming WNBA officials completely ignored him.
The former center wants to grill the commissioner on the league's political direction, arguing Silver owes him answers since the NBA heavily subsidises the operation.
On the Sage Steele Show , he said: "I think I'm going to request a meeting with Adam Silver because I know they're the one that paying the bills. So I'm going to request a meeting with Silver. I mean, as a former player, he should take the meeting. Yeah, I think it is important because I did try to have a meeting with the WNBA and the WB players, the player association for women, but they didn't get back to us or me."
"I want to know what you guys are thinking. I would put them in a corner or anything. I was just like, tell me what you're thinking. I want to know your mindset. I want to know like what do you what are you planning to do? Is this like a is this a political thing that you guys are doing right before the midterms? Like what are you guys thinking about doing?"
Adam Silver isn't likely to budge on Enes Kanter Freedom's demands. NBA and arena security handled his seating dispute at the WNBA Finals, so they're not suddenly going to have a different opinion.
Silver won't let Kanter dictate the narrative or force a meeting on his own terms.
