How DeWanna Bonner fits in with the Dream ahead of WNBA playoffs

DeWanna Bonner is reportedly joining the Atlanta Dream.

· 213 words

ESPN's Alexa Philippou reported on Wednesday that Bonner will join the Dream for the rest of the 2026 season and make a title run with the Atlanta WNBA franchise. She will reportedly make the prorated max, which totals to about $116,000, per Philippou.

Bonner joins an Atlanta team boasting forward Angel Reese , guards Rhyne Howard , Allisha Gray and Jordin Canada and center Brionna Jones , though the latter has missed significant time with injury this season.

Will Bonner start with the Dream? With Reese, Howard, Gray and Canada, it's possible Bonner slots in as a starting forward as Reese plays as the starting center role with forward/center Naz Hillmon heading to the bench.

However, it's also possible she plays a key bench role as a dominant reserve. Jones' health will be a major factor to watch for Atlanta, though Bonner's addition will help that loss.

We're sure that Bonner will play a meaningful role in a possible Dream title run, even if teams like the Minnesota Lynx , Golden State Valkyries , Las Vegas Aces , Indiana Fever and New York Liberty will have a say in that.

The team looks to continue its four-game win steak against the Portland Fire at home at 7:30 p.m. ET this Friday on ION.
