Journalist Investigating 76ers Star LeBron James' Travel Arrangements

So it looks like LeBron James is turning heads yet again for the Philadelphia 76ers , but not for the reasons you think.

It looks like there is going to be an investigation by Pablo Torres into his use of his helicopter. According to reports , Torres is looking into the legality of James' free helicopter rides courtesy of Fanatics and their deal with the four-time NBA champion. A deal that has rubbed some higher-ups in the NBA, the wrong way

As of now, there is no rule that keeps James from doing this, and it may come into question depending on how this investigation goes. The real question is, what difference does it make for the team? Is it a huge distraction? Highly unlikely. It's more of a running joke between the players. So essentially, this could cause a disruption in the chemistry department for the team.

The other thing about this is that James isn't the only player who has chosen air miles instead of road mileage. The Laker legend and Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant used helicopters to get to games when he played for the Lakers, so it doesn't seem like that big of a deal. If this was impacting others and causing delays, it would make sense for there to be an uproar regarding the situation. But since there isn't, let's stay focused on the 76ers.

There's a possibility that this could cause a problem at some point during the season, and that's the last thing the organization needs. It's bad enough that this team will be under a microscope the entire season; if you add in this investigation, it's only going to pile onto the stress the team is already under. This is going to be the thing that helps them bond as a team. With a mix of veterans and young players, it's going to take everyone to stand together to get through this potential controversy.

The NBA has quite the reputation for having controversial situations during the season. Look no further than the gambling situation that saw numerous players, current and former, be brought up on charges and ultimately removed from the NBA. This may not have the magnitude of the James helicopter situation, but it's something worth noting.

Distractions are going to happen no matter where you are, but it's about how you adapt to the situation that shows how strong you are mentally. No matter what happens, this team will get over the hump and move forward on their quest to win an NBA title.
