DeWanna Bonner Reportedly Signs Dream Contract, Latest WNBA Standings for Angel Reese, Atlanta

The Atlanta Dream signed DeWanna Bonner as a free agent on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Alexa Philippou .

Bonner's deal is worth $116,000, per Philippou .

She opened the 2026 season as a member of the Phoenix Mercury, but agreed to a contract buyout with the team on Monday.

Bonner is now joining a Dream squad that's currently battling for positioning in the WNBA playoff picture led by star forward Angel Reese.

Meanwhile, the Mercury were eliminated from playoff contention on Saturday.

Bonner appeared in 37 contests prior to her exit from Phoenix, averaging 10.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 39.4 percent from the field and 26.2 percent from three-point territory.

The 39-year-old has racked up six All-Star nods, three Sixth Player of the Year awards, two championships and two All-WNBA selections since she was selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2009 draft.

Bonner sits at No. 3 on the league's all-time scoring list .

With 98 career playoff games under her belt, she brings plenty of experience to a Dream squad that has struggled with depth this year.

Atlanta's bench is averaging 17.2 points per game this season, representing the second-lowest mark among all WNBA teams.

Still, the Dream have been successful largely due to a starting lineup headlined by Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard and Reese.

Reese has recorded a career-high 16.1 points to go along with 12.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game during her 2026 campaign. She's also shot 43.7 percent from the field.

Bonner could make her Dream debut during their next game, a matchup with the Portland Fire on Friday.
